Liturgical Music

Music update 2/1/2024

Hello St. Francis family!!!

I am currently still offering free music theory classes to our church and school community on Thursday evenings at 5:30-6:30pm for anyone who would like to learn how to read and understand music. We are currently in our second rotation and week 3 of the night 7 week course. The next class will begin February 22. Please email Denise dduque@stfoa-parish.org for more information and sign ups!

Our choir is getting ready for Lent and Easter and this is the right time for any new members to come and join in! We are still looking for more voices! If you love singing during Mass, you are invited to join our music ministry. The goal is to have enough people to join so that we can have 2-3 different styles/groups to serve Mass through the month the way we did before the pandemic. Please email Denise for details and schedule!

All Masses currently have a cantor and pianist, at a minimum.

Weddings and Funerals

The sacred and communal nature of our Catholic Wedding and Funeral Celebrations require careful planning in the selection of music.  Because of the sacredness of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, secular instrumental or vocal music, or the use of recorded music of any kind may not be used. Please contact Denise Duque dduque@stfoa-parish.org with any questions and song selections.
