Admissions
Thank you for your interest in our school. The mission of St. Francis of Assisi School is to educate the whole person by creating a Christ-centered community that fosters an active faith, encourages service, and promotes academic growth. During the admissions process, we look for families who can give their support to our mission, and who recognize the important role that parents play in the education of their child. Information regarding St. Francis of Assisi School is available by contacting the school administrative office at the phone number and address listed below, or by e-mailing a request to our office at skeaton@stfoa.org.
Admissions Policy: St. Francis of Assisi School admits students of any race, color, national or ethnic origin, or sex, to all the rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded to students at the school. St. Francis of Assisi School does not discriminate in the administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, scholarship and loan programs or other school-administered programs.
Admissions Protocol for Order of Acceptance: First preference is given to families who already have children attending the school. Priority is then given to those who have been registered, contributing members of St. Francis of Assisi Parish, then to Catholic non-parish families, and then to non-Catholic families.

If you want to hold a space for your child/children for a school year beyond the current school year, please fill out the Intent to Register form and submit it to the school office. The office will contact you 9 months prior to the beginning of the school year you wish your child to attend, and invite you to our Open House. After that, we will set up a time for an interview. |

Admission for the current school year: The registration process begins after the Open House in early February. (See Admissions Calendar for specific dates). The procedure for admissions is as follows: |
1st-8th grade:
Steps for Admission:

Parents should fill out the Intent to Register form and submit it to the school office. (This can be done at any time.)

As openings become available, the office will use the information on the Intent to Register form to contact parents to set up an interview with the parents and an academic screening for the child.

Parents are notified of the school’s decision concerning admittance within 2 business days of the interview.

Registration is complete when all the necessary paper work is submitted and the registration fee is paid.
Kindergarten:
Steps for Admission:

A child must be 5 years old by August 31st of the year they are entering Kindergarten.

Parents should fill out the Intent to Register form and submit it to the school office. (This can be done at any time.)

Following the Open House, parents need to call the school office to schedule an appointment for a Kindergarten Readiness Assessment screening. The purpose of the screening is to determine whether a child is developmentally ready for a full day program.

Parents are notified of the school’s decision concerning admittance within 5 business days of the screening.

Registration is complete when all necessary paper work is submitted and the registration fee is paid.
