Spanish

Our Spanish Program is offered to our seventh and eighth graders. This is one of the electives that students can choose from involving a program that can help them succeed in High School. Language Arts is very fundamental to other subjects and builds student confidence.

Spanish classes provide for an experience of small successes each day, with activities that motivate them to understand, personalize, and communicate. It offers important social interaction with their peers that middle school students thrive on. This type of cordial interaction allows students to share the excitement of language comprehension by means of communicative activities, pairing and group work, and cooperative learning. Providing purpose and meaning will encourage students at this age to be language learners as they perceive appropriate activities which address real-life situations. This motivates middle school students to try to communicate in Spanish at any opportunity.

Our Spanish program focuses on authentic culture and diverse real-life communication, familiarizing them with Spanish in different parts of Mexico. The Spanish class meets twice each week. And remember - it's also about having fun while we discover a new language!
