Science: Throughout the grades, the students learn science using hands-on materials. The FOSS Science kits are an excellent way to provide in-depth involvement with the concepts of science. Newspaper articles, books, and magazines are used as supplementary materials to support the science curriculum.
In sixth grade, the students go to an outdoor education camp for a week, as a means of reinforcing their study of the environment.
St. Francis of Assisi School is committed to protecting the environment. We are a member of the Green Schools Program, and through assemblies and workshops, the students learn about their responsibilities as world citizens.
